Different students have different learning styles and perform differently based on the context of learning. However, continuous monitoring of a child’s behavior can help in assessing and develop traits to facilitate the child learning. This type of evaluation method has been implemented in almost all international and CBSE schools in India. This was introduced to reduce pressure on students. The method takes into account both the academic and non-academic performances of students while awarding grades which helps students who are not that good at academics compared to their peers but have very good non-academic skills.

Following are the 3 techniques we employ for Student Assessment

Continious & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

Our Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) program is designed to ensure that each child’s learning levels, comprehension skills and cognitive abilities are continuously evaluated. CCE comprises of regular assessments, frequency of unit testing, analysis of learning gaps, applying corrective measures, retesting and giving feedback to teachers and students for their self-evaluation. CCE is also applied to co-curricular activities to ensure better training.

CCE consists of two types of tests namely formative and summative tests. The formative tests comprise quizzes, oral tests, project assignments which has 40% weight-age of the total score. Then the summative tests are held which comprise 60% weight-age.

CCE enables our teachers to identify each child’s strengths and areas of improvements and thus personalize lessons and learning materials accordingly. This gives students chances to improve their performance thru the years.

Additional Coaching to Excel

The School does not believe in coaching classes and does not promote the same for commercial purposes.

We believe that the time spent of tutions can be better utilised for a more all-round development and the school must justify the 6 hours that they take from every day of the students life.

Keeping this in mind "Nalanda" maintains a zero period for additional in house academic, sports and hobby coaching through-out the year. In case this is found insufficient we urge our students for stay back facility in order to ensure that they excel.
